The Jeepers Jamboree is considered the oldest,
toughest and largest organized event of this type in the world. It has worldwide publicity through TV, radio, magazines and newspaper. The Jamboree has taken more than 35,059 vehicles and 101,984 people over the Rubicon Trail. People from all over the world have participated in this trip.
The Jeepers Jamboree has exclusive use of the Rubicon Trail for its events. Be sure to check your calendar. Trail date restricition is July 21 - July 26 and July 30 -August 2, 2010.
The world-famous Jeepers Jamboree starts in Georgetown California. Vehicles travel east over approximately 45 miles of paved and dirt roads crossing the dam at Stumpy Meadows and the old cattleman's stop of Uncle Tom's Cabin. At Loon Lake, the off-roading begins.

The weather is unpredictable...
Be prepared for chilly mornings, chilly evenings and hot summer days. We may also have an occasioanl afternoon thunder shower.
Garbage
There will be a dumpster located at the staging area at the end of the trail.
Plastic bags are for garbage, Mesh bags are for CA redemption items. Please keep separate.
Cell phone service is available allong the I-80 corodor and is marginal along Hwy. 89.
CB (Citizens Band) radios and FRS (Family Radio Service) walkie talkies are useful for communication over short distances with others on the trail (CB's are common for jeepers and FRS for hikers), but have limited distance (several miles).
Satellite phone (Iridium, Globalstar, Inmarsat) are best for emergency communications.
2 meter and 70 cm. amateur (ham) radios have greater distance and can often be linked to repeaters on mountain tops, but require a license.
